Central Government Exploitation
This section gives details the process to commission new services over the GCSx network. It is necessary to establish the business case, gain permission from government security and operational groups and then make the technical changes to allow the new service to be created. The process covers off such subjects as how many users there will be, how much and type of traffic, how the service will be tested and how supported.
Several services have already completed this process and the GC Exploitation team are available to assist any central government, local authority or other organisation with a need to move data securely between local authorities and central government.
The purpose of the exploitation workstream is to manage the capture, development, realisation and promotion of new opportunities for utilising capability provided by Government Connect. In addition it aims to co-ordinate development of business and benefits case for Government Connect.
This workstream is establishing a process for enabling the progression of central government and government agency requirements to securely share data with LAs and vice versa across GCSx.
Government Connect will be engaging with OGDs, agencies and LAs to capture new opportunities and requirements for secure data exchange and will be supporting a number of initiatives with a requirement to securely exchange data with LAs.
