Technical Implementation Pack v1.6

The Technical Implementation Pack is a series of documents to support you in connecting to GCSx and in demonstrating compliance with the Code of Connection (CoCo)

Broadly, there are four sections of the Technical Implementation Pack:

  • Subscription process overview
  • Contractual documentation
  • Technical configuration documentation
  • CoCo support documentation

The Technical Implementation Pack will support you in the process of successfully completing the Implementation process, which should be worked through with your Regional Account Manager.  Please contact us to book an appointment.

Contents

Subscription Process Overview

1. Subscription Process
The Subscription Process defines the steps, along with a checklist, that each LA needs to go through in order to achieve their GCSx connection.

The document provides a brief overview for each process, document and requirement that LAs need to consider and action.

Contractual Documentation

2. C&W Register of Service (RoS)
The ROS is a description of the GC products available from C&W, and details the cost of GCSx services.  It is for information purposes only.

Other than reading the document prior to submitting a signed C&W contract, LAs are not required to do anything with this.

3. OGC Buying Solutions Terms and Conditions (Code of Practice)
These are the terms and conditions that apply to the provision of services from OGCbs to the LA. Each LA is required to sign the OGCbuying.solutions’ Terms and Conditions for use of GCSx.

Many LAs are already signed up to the OGC.buying.solutions’ Terms & Conditions for other procurement purposes, and we will be able to advise you of this list.

LAs are requested to sign and return this document to OGCbs before the issue of a specific Service Contract for GCSx.  A sample Code of Practice is included in PDF form to highlight the areas marked in RED, which require LA input. SAMPLE GSi Code of Practice version 2.1 for Gov Connect.pdf

4. Generic GSi Service Contract
Included in the TIP is a generic copy of the legal contract that LAs will have with C&W for their connection to the GCSx network.m

When a LA is ready to proceed with the installation (having signed off their proforma details and submitted the OGC Terms and Conditions), a personalised version of the C&W contract will be issued to the LA.

5. Tameside MBC Generic Subsidy Claim MOA (No longer applicable)
This is a generic copy of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) which provides LAs with information and the process for claiming back from Tameside MBC both their installation and first year running costs for GCSx as appropriate.

A personalised version of the document is issued to LAs along with their C&W Service Contract.

6. Generic Interim Helpdesk Letter
Explains the current GC Helpdesk arrangements and how to make use of the service, if required.

Technical Configuration Documentation

7. Pre Connection Take On Guide
The Take On Guide provides each LA with preparatory information and processes for system specification and configuration prior to receiving their GCSx connection.

8. Operational Support Guide (previously the Post-Connection Take On Guide)
The Operational Support Guide supplies details about additional guidelines and policies that should be considered once an LA has a GCSx connection.  Detailed information regarding the GC Helpdesk and support arrangements are also included.

9. GCSx Pre Connection checklist
This document provides a checklist for connection to the GCSx network, and qualification for on site support to be provided by a Vistorm Consultant.  Fulfilment of the pre-requisites detailed below will help to ensure connection to the GCSx network is made in the most time effective manner.
