Welcome to GCSXOperational Support

Thank you for working with the Government Connect Team to configure your local services to use the GCSX infrastructure and congratulations on achieving compliance with the Code of Connection.

If you have any operational problems with GCSX please refer to Annex I of the GCSX Operational Support Guide or contact the GC Service Desk.

DTA Operational Support Guide
The Local Authority Support Team (LAST) controls access and provides support to all local authorities who use CIS to confirm receipt of DWP benefits to administer HB/CTB. LAST deal with all CIS related issues.

For a copy of the DTA Operational Support Guide, which outlines requirements, procedures and common problem solving issues, contact your LAST team. Contact details for LAST can be found here.

GC Service Desk
If you are encountering any problems or incidents with your GCSX service not covered in the GCSX Operational Support Guide you should contact your local authority's own IT Helpdesk in the first instance. Your IT Helpdesk should then, if necessary, contact the GC Service Desk. Please note that only local authority IT Helpdesk staff should call the GC Service Desk.

Aggregated local authorities will need to contact the relevant Aggregated Support Desk.
Click here for details of your local area.

All other local authorities should contact the GC Service Desk:

The GC Service Desk will take details about the incident and pass the call on to second line support in C&W or another appropriate organisation as necessary.

It is important that local authorities do the following four things to maximise the support available from the GSi Community (of which GCSX is a part) and the GC Service Desk:

  1. Set up a shared IT Admin email box as gsi@LANAME.gcsx.gov.uk. This will ensure that you receive information about network usage/upgrades/any other issues or information about the GCSX/GSi infrastructure.
  2. Regularly visit www.gsi.gov.uk. This is an internal web page to the GSi and community members can access useful information about the GSi including a list of who’s connected (including other local authorities, Government Departments, Government Agencies and suppliers). Security Notices are also published on this site.
  3. Set up security_officer@LANAME.gcsx.gov.uk for ongoing communication at RESTRICTED level for the reauthorisation of your Code of Connection.
  4. Set up section_151_officer@LANAME.gcsx.gov.uk and ceo@LANAME.gcsx.gov.uk for ongoing communication relating to important security and data sharing developments.
